Mr. Maher ALOKUSH from M&I Est. was selected by Dar Alomran as a SCADA Specialist for the Project "Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of Fuhais and Mahis Water Supply System".
Generally, the project aims to design rehabilitation works for 230 km water supply networks (with diameters from 63mm to 600 mm distributions and secondary lines) and rehabilitation of the pumping stations including designing a local SCADA System and linking with the Master SCADA in Amman.
M&I Est. acted as SCADA design subcontractor responsible for preparing technical specifications, bill of quantities as well as tender drawings for supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) in addition to advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) dedicated for customers water meter readings.
SCADA System proposed to monitor and control water distribution networks within Fuhais & Mahis area - consisting of local control station at Fuhais, called Fuhais Control Room (FCR), which performs data acquisition/control for Fuhais pump hall, group of remote terminal units RTUs dedicated for valve chambers, flowmeters, pressure loggers within several areas in Fuhais and Mahis.
Fuhais Control Room is considered as an RTU, same as all other RTUs within the locations mentioned above; In reference to Dabuque Main Control Center (Main SCADA Center).
Essential role of Dabuque Main SCADA Station as well as Fuhais Local SCADA Station is to monitor and control the valves of the water distribution network, automatically based on feedback signals coming from pressure loggers; Yet, manually adjust each valve opening or closing percentage according to the operator desire (at Dabuque or at Fuhais).
RTUs scattered along over-water distribution network, transmit different parameters such as pressure readings in Bars before and after pressure reducing valves, water flow readings in m3/h, valve opening or closing percentage %, water leak alert if any within valves chambers and many other parameters.
As for Fuhais Control Room (Local SCADA), it collects data from all RTUs at field in addition to Fuhais pump hall components/instruments; Then after displays all of these data at two 21” screens to have synoptic view covering all of the project components. Also, there is A3 laser printer dedicated for alarm/events printing, graphical trends, reports (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly …). All in addition to a powerful archiving system / historical for all graphical trends, events, alarms and operation issues.
